Digital Asset Management Round-up, June 2016

Digital Clarity Group’s DAM round-up condenses and consolidates some of the digital asset management industry’s most topical news and happenings from the past couple of months.  This edition’s round-up covers Veeva’s DAM solution for Life Sciences, EPAM and ADAM software’s new accelerator, MediaValet’s recent integration with Office 365, and congratulations to this year’s CODiE DAM crown winner.

Veeva’s Vault PromoMats DAM delivers advanced DAM Capabilities in Life Sciences

Digital asset management solution for Life Sciences.

Veeva Vault PromoMats DAM recently announced its new, digital asset management solutions specifically built for the Life Sciences industry.  The press release claims this to be the only industry-specific solution that combines digital asset management capabilities with medical, legal, regulatory (MLR) review in a single enterprise cloud application.

The addition of digital asset management is an extension of the San Francisco-based company’s content management solutions – Veeva Vault PromoMats. Vault PromoMats DAM will give its customers the ability to now manage a greater breadth of content, including digital assets, from within their digital supply chain management tool. While both versions provide DAM capabilities, Vault PromoMats DAM offers support for larger file sizes, increased storage capacity, and more robust image and video file handling.

As companies try to get a better handle on the technology they have, and to understand what they need, to provide the best customer experience, for both internal and external audiences, I foresee more “industry specific” solutions to surface. These tailored technologies will need to integrate with the specialized and customized solutions needed to support the industry’s requirements (i.e.: regulatory guidelines and restrictions) for which they were built.

EPAM and ADAM team up to deliver next-gen brand experience

Next generation digital asset management with EPAM and ADAM.

EPAM Systems Inc. announced a next generation e-Commerce solution with long-standing partner, ADAM Software, a global leader in digital asset management (DAM) solutions that specializes in creating engaging brand experiences.

As industry leaders of digital innovation, EPAM and ADAM have collaborated to launch the new Digital Asset Accelerator for Hybris with the aim of deepening their partnership in order to continue to create more efficiencies for customers. With the new accelerator, Hybris customers aim to accelerate client growth, by providing create richer shopping experiences through the integration of creative content/digital assets into customer facing storefronts via ADAM’s DAM solutions. This new tool will further round out the content management capabilities for clients working with ADAM and Hybris.

MediaValet Announce Office 365 Integration

MediaValet integrates it digital asset management solution with Microsoft's Office 365.

MediaValet recently announced an integration of its Azure-based Cloud DAM solution with Office 365 easing access, search, and use of digital assets managed within their MediaValet solution. This integration will allow those with the proper permissions to access MediaValet that ability to insert and/or attach collateral from MediaValet directly from their Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). While various other DAM vendors (PicturePark, Digizuite, Celum to name a few) have similar integrations with the desktop version of the MS Office suite, and SharePoint, none come to mind that have done it with the online version of the tool.  And with the increased acceptance and uptake of Google Drive as the core working tools (vs. MS Office), I suspect there will be more and more DAM vendors looking to provide integrations to both these online solutions.
